Campaign Story

* Typical cost of capstone projects (including registrations, travel and supplies) is about $1200.

* I am trying to raise $600 as family and school will cover the rest.

Goals for My Fundraiser:

Supporting my capstone project
*** I plan to pursue the project though participation in TSA activities like competitions and community service. ***

The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that helps students explore STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities.

What is ‘Biomechanical Data Innovator’

A project that integrates the physics of martial arts biomechanics with advanced data analysis to develop performance optimization models and injury prevention strategies. The project will target global development organizations, using the insights to improve training programs and promote health and equality in underserved communities.

Why I am pursuing this project (My why)

  1. I am a ‘Strategist’ personality type person with strong ‘entrepreneurship’ business potential.
  2. I’m super into Physics and martial arts – it’s kind of my thing. So, I’m working on this cool project as a data whiz for global groups, aiming to level up the world through personal growth. It’s all about making a difference, you know?.

My plan of action: Competitions and Activities

Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to join:

DECA – As the primary CTSO, DECA focuses on entrepreneurship, marketing, and business strategy, providing valuable opportunities for competition, networking, and developing business acumen. It aligns well with the student’s entrepreneurial aspirations and key tasks.

FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) – FBLA offers a broader platform for developing leadership and managerial skills in business. Its competitive events and community projects can help build foundational business strategies and self-management skills, complementing the student’s passion project goals.

Competitions

TSA – Software Development Competition

This introductory competition focuses on coding, algorithm design, and project presentation, aligning well with the technical aspects of the Biomechanical Data Innovator project.

DECA – Entrepreneurship Competition

This competition promotes innovative business ideas and requires the development of a business plan, which will complement the technical work with strategic entrepreneurship, fitting the innovator’s broader vision.

TSA – Data Science and Analytics Competition

This introductory competition emphasizes data collection, analysis, and presentation — all essential components for integrating biomechanical data into the project.

FBLA – Business Plan Competition

This advanced competition challenges students to develop a comprehensive business plan, which is critical for scaling and commercially realizing the Biomechanical Data Innovator.

Community Service:

STEM Innovation Workshop

Why it fits: The workshop leverages the technical and entrepreneurial skills gained from the competitions and directly benefits the local community by inspiring STEM interest.

Implementation: Plan and execute a workshop in zip code 30031 that includes hands-on activities, demonstrations, and collaborative projects focused on biomechanics and data science, allowing the student to mentor peers.

Skills Development: Leadership, public speaking, community engagement, project planning
